Brad is the son of Nin Angelo, who had a record winning streak on the original “Beat The Champ” hosted by Chuck Healy in the 1960’s.
Bowlers competing this week are from all over WNY..
The next round of qualifiers can play starting Friday June 2nd at the Tonawanda Bowling Center. Here are the dates and times!
“Beat The Champ” originally aired for decades on Channel 4 with legendary hosts Chuck Healy and Van Miller. While it has not been seen for close to twenty years, the competition remains one of the longest running bowling programs on television.
Now, “Beat The Champ” is co-hosted by veteran sportscaster Paul Peck and Greater Buffalo USBC Association Hall of Fame bowler Sue Nawojski. Peck worked for decades at “News 4” before becoming a financial advisor and play-by-play broadcaster for the UB Bulls football team. Janelle Sabin keeps the numbers on the Castilone Jeep, Chrysler, Plymouth Scoreboard.
The next tapings of the program are scheduled for Monday May 22nd at Brad Angelo Lanes.
