Everybody is Polish on Dyngus Day!
Celebrated the day after Easter, Dyngus Day is a great day of fun and frolic following the Christian Lenten season, and the most holy day of Easter.
In Buffalo, Dyngus Day is not just celebrated – it is revered as much as a national holiday!
On WBBZ-TV's "Talk of the Town," hosts Phil Arno and Kim Piazza welcomed Bernadette Pawlak, organizer of the big parade kicking off 5pm Monday in Buffalo's historic Polonia district on Broadway, winding through parts of the city and ending up at Paderwski Drive near the Central Terminal.
In addition to the parade, Bernadette talked about the traditions of the day.
